南太友邦索羅門群島(Solomon Islands)新任駐台大使王哲夫(Joseph Pius Waleanisia)，今天(1日)向蔡英文總統呈遞國書。總統致詞表示，台灣與索羅門的邦誼已有堅實基礎，未來將秉持互惠互助的精神，繼續推動更多實質合作計畫。
蔡英文總統1日在總統府接受索羅門群島駐台大使王哲夫的到任國書時致詞表示，台、索已有33年堅定友誼，雙邊關係十分緊密，各項合作計畫也持續順利推動，未來必能繼續深化。
總統說：『(原音)台灣跟索羅門群島的邦誼，在彼此共同努力之下，已經有堅實的基礎，未來我們希望持續秉持互惠互助的精神，繼續透過推動更多實質合作的計畫，來深化兩國友誼。』
總統特別提到雙方在農、漁業等方面的合作關係，像雙方簽署漁業合作協定，有助促進兩國間海洋養殖產業的投資、研究、發展及訓練，並在漁業養護管理工作上彼此合作，以具體行動回應歐盟要求打擊非法、未報告及未受規範(IUU)的漁撈行為；此外，雙方在潔淨能源、醫衛合作及人才培育等許多領域也有密切合作，成果有目共睹。
